Position Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective commercial customers. This role manages the full sales cycle - from opportunity identification through proposal, negotiation, and fulfillment - while ensuring sales are competitive, profitable, and aligned with company capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with commercial customers
  • Identify customer needs and uncover service, repair, retrofit, and project opportunities
  • Convert leads into qualified opportunities
  • Develop account plans to grow key customer relationships
  • Provide consultative solutions focused on performance, reliability, and long‑term value
  • Conduct facility walk‑throughs and collect preliminary information
  • Develop, evaluate, and present solution options to customers
  • Prepare service repair quotes, including time & material and fixed‑price proposals
  • Assist project estimations by integrating:
    • Equipment
    • Controls
    • Subcontractors
    • Internal services
  • Prepare and finalize proposals and enter data into company systems
  • Determine proposal pricing and selling strategy
  • Present, negotiate, and finalize contracts and scopes of work
  • Follow up with key customer personnel throughout the sales process
  • Secure service contract renewals
  • Prepare account business reports and monthly sales forecasts
  • Maintain an acceptable rate of business acquisition
  • Coordinate project transitions to the project management team
  • Assist in resolving scope deviations
  • Support customers by addressing technical questions and concerns
  • Maintain flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of sales experience (preferred but not required)
  • HVAC or mechanical industry knowledge preferred but not required
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Highly organized with strong time and activity management skills
  • Professional communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of results
  • Valid driver's license
